I am a big Alien fan but, while looking amazing from a purely visual aspect, Romulus was disappointing. Too many, very clumsy references to previous Alien movies made the thing cringeable. The CGI rendering of Ash from Alien was unconvincing and calling the character Rook was yet another clumsy "do you get it, you know, Bishop, Rook chess?" reference. The whole premise that the penal colony/ slave camp management didn't spot the huge space station falling on the planet and that the inmates happened to have a space capable vehicle available to board it is ridiculous. And the final scene? This is (insert name here) signing off..... Sad. So disappointed.
