I beg of you - please do not understand any part of this movie to be the actual Ramayana. I understand this is a unique way to show the semblance between the creators story and Goddess Sita’s, but please understand this is not even 0.00001% true to the actual story. If you want to enjoy it, go for it. But please see the cultural appropriation, misrepresentation, insensitivity, and wrongful narrative for what it is. The amount of people who liked this movie for its representation of Ramayana, indian and non-Indians included, very much scares me.

Movie is a great family film, as there aren’t much in the market anyway - I know some people think its sexist, illogical, and whatnot but honestly if you’ve seen a normal brother-sister banter and a joint family, you’d know a lot of the things in the film aren’t far fetched. Definitely emotional and yea could do with a little more refinement but otherwise its a great watch! P.S: I watched this movie with my sisters on rakshabandhan while missing our brothers who are faaar away so maybe my experience was a bit bias 😅
