*spoiler warning* I want to start off by saying that I loved the first movie in this series! The plot was more interesting than most teen romance movies and everything fell into place at the end very well. Now for this movie... Unbelievable! I can NOT believe Lara Jean picked Peter over John Ambrose! Throughout the film, Peter talked intimately to his ex, (yes I know it was because her parents are getting divorced but they didn't have to get so TOUCHY) tried to bring up John Ambrose's past stutter at the tree house, (which was incredibly low) and admitted that during the hot tub scene in the 1st movie, he was actually waiting for his ex, not Lara Jean (this was the turning point in their relationship yet it wasn't as genuine as she thought.) These actions really indicate that Peter just isn't a very good person and he certainly isn't a great boyfriend. John Ambrose, on the other hand, was delightful over the course of the whole movie. He matched Lara Jean on an intellectual level much better than Peter did, stayed calm and collected even as Peter rudely mentioned his stutter, and was generally caring and sweet to Lara Jean. It was clear that he would've been a great boyfriend! I am simply baffled that the protagonist chose the dishonest, average jock Peter over charming, musical, intelligent John Ambrose. I expected more from Lara Jean. Very disappointed.
