This movie is horrible. It does not hold up to the character development and excitement of the previous movies in this series. I suspect that all positive reviews are from audience members with extreme comparison bias after watching the other Marvel Phase 4 flops (Thor: Love and Blunder, Ant Man & the Wasp: Quantumaniacs, Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Sadness, etc.)
Do you remember when you learned the basic narrative concept of "show, don't tell" in 2nd grade? If not, no worries--neither did the directors or writers here. The movie holds only extraordinarily predictable lines and plot. For instance, in the theater, I joked "tHEy ShOULd KiSs!" in a scene with Rocket Raccoon and some random minor character they introduced. They literally kissed 10 seconds later. I was really disappointed.
Past the characters made into parodies of themselves similar to the recent Thor, the production design was extremely unrefined and goofy for no reason. It looked exactly like the gross setting of Quantumania. This has confirmed to me that Marvel has lost all storytelling, craft character shaping, and basic organization. I'm pretty bummed.
I was moved to write this review only after watching Captain America: Winter Solider last night. WOW! Do you remember how incredible the Iron Man, Ant Man, original GotG, and other older Marvel movies were? Let's stop giving marvel a pass for poor movies!
