Great actors etc What this movies misses is - Lack of plot that tells us why basic AI doll went from protect child to kill everyone. Just add some bs like someone (Cole) wanted to steal code and accidentally messed up with doll code. This small addition would answer to most questions.

First 5 mins of the movie was really great. Real horror. Then it turned in a romantic drama about bullying which was actually not so bad if we remove mystic death/revive. Later part of the movie was all about B style horror similar to "sadako x kayako x buyako x miyako". I think at least several mins of plot was cut because movie obviously lack some scenes. Overall I enjoyed it, but I would not consider it a horror movie. It's a movie about small american cities and relations between grandma and granddaughter.

It's not a woke. Female pinhead is cool. I really enjoyed this movie. Thank you.

Great actors, camera, soundtrack, but that's all. If we remove all "jumpscare" scenes (honestly,I hate jumpscare scenes in all movies and in Smile they looked like a jumpscare from games) it would a movie about woman who went crazy. Curse thing is okay, but it would be way better if there were less jumpscare and more "horror tension" scenes. Just like in japanese horrors. I wanted to put a 3 star at first, but let's agree that this was a first great horror movie after co-vid.

One of the best movies about "mutants". I loved x-man cartoons, but the movie series was average-bad for me (sorry everyone). After a lot of critical reviews about The New Mutants (2020) movie, I thought it's a trash horror non-related to mutants, but I was wrong. It's probably the first movie in recent years that I watched from the start to the end. A lot of plot without waste of screentime, great last scenes. ofc I didn't like shower scenes. Great girls, but it's a wrong movie for these scenes.

One of the best movies about "life after zombie apocalypse". Based on a comedy tv series.

Good "dark" (in some parts) fantasy.
