As a long time reader of DaSilva novels I found the revised story line of this book quite inexplicable. DaSilva books are usually well balanced and very accurately researched, especially in the area of Classical Art and European/Russia/Arab politics. I was grossly repelled by his pre-publication storyline adjustments to lurch into partisan US politics. Further, the shameless remoulding of his characters and the storyline, apparently to fit the prevailing CNN vernacular at that time was repugnant. I do hope that his wife, a senior CNN producer, approves this trajectory. Shame on you Sir !!
