Surprisingly original and well crafted, this movie was a surprise to be sure- but a welcome one. This movies knew what it wanted to be and did it very well. Unlike most modern horror movies there was no filler, every scene contributed too the plot and the plot continues developing at a steady pace for the entire run time leaving me with just a single complaint- The art style. While I personally loved the minor psychedelic distortions and lighting effects I do see how this could bother some people and induce motion sickness. Loved it, if you haven’t watched Final Girl watch it.

Everyone needs to see this. This movie is just incomparable to anything that you will ever see, it raises the bar for modern western cinema to a degree almost unfathomable considering it was made on a budget of less than most people’s rent. The fight sequences are so powerful inherit to the fact you can tell everyone had an amazing time making this movie. Can not recommend enough 5/5

My dad showed me this movie when I was 11, I just checked it out again (at 21) and it still holds up incredibly well; between my own life experiences and what I witnessed in this film as a child- I can’t give it a stronger recommendation, this movie taught me lessons that quite literally kept me alive when I was selling meth and MDMA as a 15 year old. Regardless of the life you come from, your background or age- WATCH SUGARHOUSE, it might just save your life.
