A meandering and semipointless look into a tale of abuse with no satisfying conclusion. She writes of what happened but not of what didn't. Why didn't she try harder to escape? Why didn't she go to her father? Why didn't she fight her mother more if she was willing to die? These unanswered questions left this book feeling shallow if not very real.
