Loved S.W.A.T. from Day 1 for various reasons - well written and well written and for dealing with real issues. However, it's latest turn has turned me off and I am on the verge of tuning out. I am referring to the latest episode which deals with, among other things, a manage a trois involving one of the team. The show suddenly seems to turning into a soap opera. The longest cop shows deal with a different case or set of cases in each episode and while there is a need for character development, that should not get in the way of the story. There is no need to be different just for the sake of it. You are only into Season 2 and there is no reason for moving away from a winning formula. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Otherwise you will break your loyal fan base and fall from grace before you know it.
