It's an interesting look into the past. One has to watch it completely expecting, well, a screwball comedy. Some of the characters are really cringey, especially Irene (played by Carole Lombard), and her Mom which turned everything into a slightly annoying farce. However, I did get quite a few laughs out of it, the acting was (for the most part) spot on, and there was some fairly compelling plot twists. My main issue with this film is that one does not feel sympathetic enough towards Irene to ever 'like' her as a character. Her 'romance' with Godfrey just makes me feel sorry for the man. The ending is a little unsatisfying for the same reason. Cinamatography is on point, however the audio is a little muffled, and ocassionally hard to make out. All in all I enjoyed it, but it was a little... different. If you want a window into the 30's and don't mind a good chuckle, this movie is for you.
