I'm glad they used John's voice in the songs, and Chad did ok bringing John to life... He wasn't very good at mouthing the words though. Makeup did fairly well at bringing John's features into Chad's persona, though they never "aged" Chad in the roll. I was born at the height of JD's fame and his voice was the first I recognized on the radio. I will always be a fan. And I'm pleased to have found this movie. One of my life's regrets is never having been to one of his concerts. John's music will live on forever.

Watched three episodes with my husband and it's crass and uses foul language like crazy. I hoped this would be as good as the movies, but I'm sorely disappointed and will not be recommending it to anyone. I'm actually shocked that those who recommended it to me, did so.

Found this delightful Kiwi film from New Zealand, while perusing the library. Having previously worked with kids in the foster care system, I figured this would be great fun. I was not wrong. Ricky Baker is a parentless little gangster wanna be, Bella is from the bush, who gives Ricky a gun shortly after she's told not to, Hec just wants to be left alone. Without giving spoilers, Ricky and Hec end up out in the bush, running from child services who want to take Ricky away again. There's some innuendo that may not be appropriate for younger audiences, however, they probably won't understand it anyway. Fun and memorable quotes. "Are you gonna run away in the morning?" Bella to Ricky. Ricky, "probably." Bella, "just be back by breakfast." *** Ricky to Hec, "I have just one rule. I get to call you Uncle." Hec, "I have just one rule. Don't shoot me."
