I would give negative stars if I could. Just from the trailer alone I knew this movie was going to be absolute garbage so I wasn't gonna go out of my way to see it. Then I decided I wanted to see a movie one night and chose this one on a whim since it was the only one that interested me in the slightest. Lo and behold, it was even worse than I ever could have imagined. Not even two minutes in it was already unbearable to the point I wanted to leave the theater, but I didn't want to waste my money. The characters don't even act like the characters, let alone look like them, the plot is just an awful mashup of the early games, none of the characters have any common sense, everything's looks amateur as all hell, and there are cheap and awfully executed references to the games in literally every minute that don't fit with the story whatsoever like some abominable cash-grab tactic. This movie was just one big horribly written fanfiction that never should have seen the light of day. This wasn't just an epic failure of a Resident Evil movie, but it wasn't even passable as a decent movie period. If there is anything that needs to be lost to the ages, it's this heretical train wreck of a film. If you haven't seen it, I urge you to not waste your time, money and sanity, I left the theater with less brain cells than I came in with after watching this thing.

I finally caved and spent the $20 for the anniversary edition add-on earlier today, figuring that any issues HAD to be fixed after 5 months post-release. I mean, they had an obscene amount of time to do it, right? There's definitely some neat new mechanics and content from what I saw exploring and I was excited to see what's what as I got further, but it's kind of difficult to go further when the damn thing flat out won't work anymore. I cannot go into ashfall's tear and do that stupid quest because the game crashes 100% of the time every time I enter the the cave no matter what I do. I don't have any other mods installed besides the unofficial patch because I never really bothered with mods, it's this buggy as all-hell game. Believe it or not I rarely, if ever, had problems with Skyrim crashing. Ever since I first started playing it in 2019 I could not put it down for the life of me and it became my all-time favorite game so it was easy for me to get thousands of hours under my belt. Lo and behold the anniversary edition comes out and Bethesda in all their wisdom decided to force an update that I didn't want on me to give me a few of the new things to try, and then suddenly I have the game crashing on me out of nowhere maybe every 10-20 minutes. I take a hiatus from it for a while and think that surely everything's fine by now so I go ahead and try the full anniversary edition add-on, and now the game is just completely unplayable. Don't waste your money on this or anything else Bethesda puts out for the foreseeable future because you already know it's gonna be hot garbage. 5 whole months later and the problems people were having at launch are still persisting, that should be all you need to know
