I'm so happy they got the mood of the books. They did a fantastic job! The miniseries format really allowed time for the little moments of Sherlock Homeless to flourish. Please endulge me as I have three improvements for the second season 1) Now they need to get the feel of Dick Hill's narration...bemused observations of American life and people. Child and Hill presented Reacher enjoying the little moments. We did feel a little of this in the car scenes...his amusement of others. 2) Reacher thinks a few step ahead of an interaction, revealing more than we realized of an opponent's motivation. 3) He was never rushed to reveal his discoveries. Much like Sherlock, he teased you with clues for his sidekicks and readers to catch up.
This was from the first watch. I'll watch again.
