I had high expectations from Too Much with Twinkle and Kajol, especially because it brings together two prominent Bollywood names โ Kajol, whose screen presence has always been magnetic, and Twinkle Khanna, known for her wit and articulate style. With that combination, I anticipated engaging conversations and some meaningful takeaways.
However, the show turns out to be quite chaotic and unstructured. Thereโs too much simultaneous talking, with little active listening or flow between segments. The questions often feel unprepared, and the overall direction lacks clarity โ almost as if the hosts didnโt do their homework before the episodes. Instead of drawing thoughtful insights or lessons from their celebrity guests, the discussions frequently veer toward light, sometimes uncomfortable personal revelations.
Both Kajol and Twinkle come across as overpowering at times, interrupting guests or judging them prematurely. The lack of decency and depth โ despite Twinkleโs claim of being โdecentโ in the first episode โ feels disappointing. Even the food segment, which could have added charm, falls flat; neither the hosts nor guests seem interested in it.
As a viewer and Bollywood admirer, I expected something more substantial โ stories of resilience, challenges, or genuine conversations that offer perspective. Unfortunately, the show focuses more on noise than nuance.
That said, itโs their first attempt, and thereโs room to grow. With tighter structure, better preparation, and more focus on meaningful storytelling, Too Much with Twinkle and Kajol could evolve into something truly engaging. For now, though, it feels like a missed opportunity.
