I play video games as a temporary form of escape from reality. I want to, if even for a moment, forget that I'm staring at a screen from a distance. This game, so far, has reached closer to the precipice of that desire, more than any before. I often found myself forgetting that I was sitting at home safe on my couch.
I found it to have a masterful balance of emotions. Both the story and gameplay kept me on the edge of my seat, eager to know more. All brakes from gameplay were forced and I didn't play for less than 6 hours at a time.
