I was glued to this book for a month. It's hard to do a front-to-back read, but I attempted it. Taken in smaller sessions, it's a real eye opener, finally shedding some like light on the various different regions of the US and why they are so different. It's academic in style. But it's well worth the read. 5 stars.

Rick has been on my radar for years. He is welcome in just about any musical circle. He brings clarity to a process that can get very foggy. His magic lies in these pages. They often seem too simple, but that's mastery. He knows enough to know that musical issues are often symptoms rather face-value bottlenecks. So this is what the book is about, how to get to a place where you can create dependably. Expect to do some work on you. And if you're like me, you'll read it often. FIVE stars... simply because that's as high as it goes.
