I just read this book Carnage in the County, and I was very disappointed. I have like all the books leading up to this one but this one let me down.
Elvin was completely devastated by Mads betrayal and having barely cheating death and understandably having PTSD, however it seemed to take Tank, who should understand, a long time to push him. Hollis had to kick his ass to help?
My main issue was the absolute lukewarm response by the town to a MASSACRE!! Mr Strickland spent precious little verbiage about 8 people horribly shot in the library. The town didn’t seem horrified or outraged or afraid of a mass murderer or anything. The prevailing concern was a shoplifter!
Then when it was a little old lady, he didn’t want to subject her to the town.
This book was a poor product of an otherwise good author! I hope his new career and the return of Mads make for a better read!
