This movie wasn't for me. I can understand as a book how this story, and the story telling would work, but a lot of what we get feels like it wasn't well executed on the big screen. I did a little bit of post-movie research and felt like if we had more of the details, it would have been more enjoyable, and understandable, but a lot of what was going on felt random and needlessly convoluted.
Cinematically, I think the movie looked good, but that was about the only thing that kept me awake. The Alaskan wilderness and the use of darkness in the film saved me from rating it at 1 star, but I can't give this any higher than a 2 out of 5. Lots of symbolism, it was well researched I guess, but the conveyance of ideas, and the story just wasn't great.
