Almost a complete ripoff of the original plot of the television series Castle. SO MANY similarities and just not enough passion or realism. Just naming the most important similarity: Strong, beautiful, female detective who became a cop because their mom or in this case, dad’s murder was a cold case and never solved until one point in the show. And a handsome, rogue, charming, ladies man with insert random profession aka mystery writer or deviled club owner to come into their life and change it for the better. Along with several sidekicks who are obviously involved in the crime solving world. Not to mention a familiar switch between the shows. In Castle, Richard Castle, the handsome rogue I was talking about has a teenage daughter and in Lucifer, Detective Chloe has a shared child daughter with her ex-husband who works with her. I guarantee if you had to choose in between this show and Castle you would choose Castle for their amazing plots and twists and turns and make sure everything is thought out and answered, and the incredible chemistry that the entire cast has with each other in 8 fully successful and binge worthy seasons. In Castle the passion and comedy and storytelling is amazing and can get you hooked within the first episode. For this show it took a while to find a groove with each character and indefinitely threw me off in a bad way when it comes to each episode. I also immediately felt deja’vu but in a distasteful sense when I watched the first few episodes. Now this is a good show further down the line and there were some good episodes but coming off of what I feel is the OG show, there are many things missing and is totally a knockoff. Tell you what. Watch the first episode in Castle and then the first episode in Lucifer and let me know which one actually gets your attention. (Since Castle was started in 2009, and Lucifer started in 2016)
