This movie is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film, Mumbai Police. Even in 2013 the twist in the plot was that the protagonist was Gay. This was a story line that no bollywood hero would accept then and I was surprised that even in 2025 this is not acceptable. That apart, the screenplay was airtight then and even now. I wish Shahid had the courage to play the original role. All marks to the storyline and the original movie. This is just a populist copy.

The iconic Mohanlalji is wasted in this movie. Although very stylish and given multiple great entries, the movie lacked a purpose for this larger than life star. Giving an international feel to the movie was wonderfully done by Prithiviraj but giving a communal basis to the protagonist felt forced. This movie had typical Kerala trend of favoring a certain popular political party and denouncing the other. Would have loved if the makers would have stuck to entertaining rather than preaching. Hoping that Lucifer 3 would be more similar to the original Lucifer.
