First thing is it looks bold, bright and colourful and if you’re younger and sweating has a novelty then the language early on is pretty heavy, I’m unsure whether the character selection would be enough to make you want to replay although Dani who I chose was actually quite entertaining and more realistic than usual.
However I’d recently played the original and riptide and dead rising 3/4 and for a 12 year wait this game doesn’t warrant £60, not enough of the world is destructible or useable and it’s not really even properly open world. If you took the shiny graphics away I’m not convinced.
The violence can look good, not every weapon gets results you’d expect to see and every body is limited to only losing the same kinda things plus the blood often goes to cartoon levels.
The gameplay is fun enough and zombies are cool but I feel redfall looks far more promising although that’s vampires. I found after a couple of 2-3 hour plays it wasn’t that fun or fresh and was just rinse and repeat and for a game that’s taken longer than puberty from birth, that’s not good enough.
