Both treacly & bleak, this film is sold as a dark comedy but is mostly just dark. The duality between friends no longer mirrors the Irish civil war. There, I explained it. But nothing can explain 2 hours where not much happens as one would expect on a small Irish island, except for some random violence (are you getting my heavy handed metaphors yet?). Oh, I laughed once or twice. You're welcome.
