The movie is sloooow… Good story, sad and believable. Unfortunately, this is an all too common scenario in families. The story could have been written better, especially after the brother returns. The father got ‘saved’ in prison (ugh!) of course he did! Two guys with guns enter Scott’s house, he kills them in self defense which is justifiable by law. The brother’s a cop? He would have known this, so there’s no need to ‘dump’ the bodies, hide the justifiable deaths of home invaders, be under investigation from I.A., fight with his brother etc…there could have been a better and more believable way to tell the story that would have shined a light on how parents treatment of their kids (step or biological) has a lasting effect on everyone.
