I just watched this movie, WOW!!!! I am very upset that Van Dyke only got 6 1/2 years and that the other officers were acquitted of conspiracy. I really do not care that Jason was afraid of being stabbed with a knife that was going towards his left shoulder, He most likely would only have been injured and not killed. 16 shoots!!!! Why??? Why did his partner or the other offices who were following him not get behind the young man as he was approaching the officer? I was also upset when the person running for mayor and the police officer referred to the police as "the troopers"!!! I believe that mindset is part of the problem with police around the USA. They are not "the troops" they are police and they are supposed to protect and serve. "The troops" are trained for "war and killing". If that is what you want to do, then join the army. Let's retrain our police force and get back to where the police knew their communities, even if they did not live there, and people were not afraid of the police but really believed they were here to protect and serve - NOT KILL!!!! Thanks for doing this movie.
