One of the most eye-opening books I have read this year. Not that I agree with all of his sweeping condemnation of so much of popular belief, but because it gives me a framework to understand some of what is happening in American politics today. Having lived through so much of the history he describes, and remembering my astonishment at some of the beliefs of my fellow Americans over the years, I can now more easily accept that even highly educated people can succumb to magical thinking. Perhaps Nature has a purpose here. I will try to believe that!!

Powerful, and visually spectacular, the movie’s tension is continuous and completely absorbing. Cumberbatch is outstanding, and the whole cast works well. Not at all your typical Western.
