I have loosely followed the Anna Delvey story for a couple years. I was really excited when I saw this preview. Overall, the dialogue and acting were pretty cheesy. The journalist, played by Anna Chlumsky, was a terrible actor. Every emotion she attempted to portray came off as raised eyebrows, a scrunched up face, huge wide eyes and shoulders up by her ears. It was distracting.
The writers in Scriberia seemed straight out of a ‘90’s romantic comedy. I caught myself thinking one time that this story was actually supposed to be happening in the 1990’s, “why does this journalist have an iPhone back then?”. Only to remind myself to this is supposed to be set in ~2017. Nothing about it felt modern or relevant.
To summarize the travel, art, fashion, luxury vibes are fun and entertaining the dialogue, reporter storyline, and dated overall feeling left much to be desired.
