Characters are botched versions of what they should be. Bane, Talia, Ra‘s, and even Bruce were all just wrong. For the three villains, they had their backstories shifted when there was nothing wrong with what they were originally. Ra‘s being "immortal“ as some kind of mental ghost is a lame cop out and Talia being friend with bane cause he helped her escape the prison they were held in together is all kinds of wrong; and while i understand that this is supposed to be a more grounded take on the characters, it would be better to not talk about their past or just not include them at all if bane being some random who was also present in the vague Middle Eastern country that Ra’s had Talia is going to be the outcome. Batman‘s sheer unpreparedness and lack of care for what situation he is in or might get himself into is a joke. Making Batman‘s successor be some cop with Jason Todd‘s backstory and the legal name "Robin" is a horrid decision as well. This movie gets two stars because the cinematography is amazing and I can’t deny that it was beautifully shot, but that is the only positive.

This has nothing to do with any of the original members of the thunderbolts, and I think calling the movie "new avengers“ would have sufficed. Sentry had one fight scene and they botched his costume. Red guardian was supposed to be the comedic relief but turned out to be a boring noisebox. Way too much focus on Florence Pugh‘s character (ylena or yelena? Not sure how to spell it) and it seemed like the movie would have benefited from having jumped around to the other characters more. Taskmaster was already bad from what happened in the black widow movie, and this time they decided to just kill her to get her out of the story, since it seems she no longer has a place in it. Even with the reveal of the fantastic 4 collab at the end, I can’t see this team beating doom, let alone god emperor doom, in any capacity; unless they do some sort of power of friendship thing like with Void. This move had some of the best comedy in the last couple of years in terms of the MCU, and it’s honestly why I’m giving it a 3 and not a 2.
