I'm about 14 hours into my playthrough, and I have to say I'm impressed. It feels little like all the souls games wrapped into one package.
I want it get one thing out of the way. This is NOT an easy game. It feels a little more accessible, and many enemy's and bosses can be avoided. But it is still the same good old soul crushing grind that us masochist gamers love.
As for performance, I've been satisfied. I'm playing on PS5 and have not seen any major performance dips. I play quality mode with a consistent 45ish frames(I don't know the exact number, but it's smooth.)
I have heard the the pc version is a little ruff, so your milage may very. And my friend playing PS4 has had some major stutters in some specific areas. Not game breaking though.
For PC players, please for the love of God, use a controller. I've tried other souls games on my PC, with a mouse and keyboard, and it's just not a good time.
All in all it's a solid game, with solid mechanics, and a very fleshed out engaging world to explore. 5/5
