When I first saw this film I was not a mother… the choices, the circumstances and the decisions in this movie are gut wrenching and very realistic…. The saying is as old as time “you have no idea how it feels until it happens to you.” Is probably the concept this movie was made around. The entire cast thru and thru absolutely rendering as they depicted these characters so well. It’s been almost 20 years since this film was released and I still remember it very very well. The capacity of this drama is incredible and the depth is breath-taking and beautifully executed. It’s a must see if your dealing with some serious health issues or live life with someone who is. It gives a great presentation of the painful moments of cancer and the endeavor of what happens to a whole family unit when a child is ill stricken. The perspective of Kate herself is one of guilt for her sister and such a great example of how a person in her shoes might deal with this as a real life situation. Without a doubt a must see!
