A mish mash of Harry Potter and Nancy Drew, with some very strange Buffy tones. (Did anyone else think Enid looked and talked an awful lot like Willow?) Jenna Ortega really is the bright spot. Her dance at the Rave-N (sic) was a revelation and really courageous. She took a big risk and it was definitely a win! Catherine Zeta-Jones is awful, managing to be both wooden and maudlin at the same time. The casting of Luis Guzman, who I generally like very much, is ridiculous. I grow more enamored at the elegance and style of Gwendolyn Christie with every role (see Sandman). I really wanted to love this, but it is just not good.
