I can’t comment fully, as I bailed about half way. After a great first film, why they decided to go for pseudo comedy confuses me. It manages to hit that sweet spot of completely unfunny and boring without being so unfunny that it becomes funny again. The plot line is a joke, characters are just awful (both written and acted) and the whole thing plain ol stinks. I really don’t get it. It’s someone’s entire job to write a script, and a whole teams job to read it before it goes into production. How did so many fail on so many levels.
I really didn’t think 2020 could get worse, but this managed to sneak in a final jab...and it ruined 1984 somehow as well.
I will watch the first film again, enjoy that and assume the second never existed.
