I found the basis of the story interesting, but was a bit disappointed in the amount of license taken with the historical standpoint. And honestly I still don't see the need for the whole naive, idealistic, pita, mom dragging her son along on some death wish journey, while a grizzled mountain man says "sure, ok, I'll risk my life for your dumbass on a suicide mission". Come on. I will say the depiction of daily life at that time, in those places, was exceptional. Three stars.
