If this game never existed, video games wouldn't be a thing. After the gaming crash of '83 all thanks to E.T., nobody trusted that video games could possibly sell. Except for one company who knew that if they made an innovative new game using a recognizable character such as their golden boy from only a few arcade games at the time, the trust could be regained in video games and companies could go back to selling home systems. And so the NES was released in North America along with the game Super Mario Bros. It took elements that worked in the arcade such as collectables like coins or platforming like in Donkey Kong, and created new expansive scrolling levels with a complete story. It was like nothing before. And even to this day, it remains one of, if not, the most influential game of all time. Anything lower than 5 stars would be a crime
