The show is funny and character development is good however; I am am a therapist in private practice and the therapists in this show are unethical and have no boundaries. I understand it’s supposed to be funny but it may give people the wrong idea about what to expect from therapists in the real world. This is not an accurate representation of what therapy really is and has the potential to mislead viewers. We would have our license taken away if we ever said or did what these therapists in the show do. What I do like about it though is that it shows that therapists are human and that we also go through life’s ups and downs. With that being said the show could have been written better. They needed to show that although the therapists experience their own pain of love and loss which can get triggered by their clients they still need to respect the boundaries of our profession. The show could still be bittersweet, heartfelt and funny but more realistic and believable if it was written that way.
