Motorcycles & Sweetgrass is a horrendous, atrocious steaming hot pile of commercial garbage: The book BARELY touches upon the problem with residential schools whilst featuring a whole chapter of Maggie (the mother of the protagonist) and John (the antagonist and Maggie's alarmingly younger love interest) sharing a heartful discussion about the female breasts. 🥵 🥵 🥵 Moreover - the book heavily promotes cultural assimilation and Maggie, an Anishinabe, refers to her brother Wayne as a "lunatic" for preserving Indigenous practices. The book also promotes first-degree murder as Maggie intrusively wants to run Wayne over for warning her about the predatory John. 😫💦💦 I do not recommend this book at all for it was an incredibly challenging read 😢😢😢. Please spare yourself. I beg you.
