I’m a reader who reads what’s popular & whats been recommended to me by friends/family. This book has been on my “to-read”
list for quite sometime...I mean it was advertised as SO popular, so why not? This book was such a big disappointment I couldn’t even finish it. I can’t justify filling my brain with the author’s vanity and they way she talks about herself. I’m all for empowerment but her condescending tone toward the reader while talking about how great she is makes me want to throw up. She attempts to be “relatable” and vulnerable with very weak attempts. I find her way and advice on working through life’s problems quite frightening. She seems to have a lot to say in sensitive topics in which she has no formal education in (ie. religion, weight loss, relationship coaching etc.) I could list the hypocrisies throughout this book as well but no one’s got that much time. I’ve learned my lesson now to make sure I read the reviews on popular books before I buy them. I am still dumbfounded on how a book such as this has made it to the best sellers list and was all over the internet and on the forefront of so many stores at the time of its release. Seems fishy to me considering there are so many negative reviews across multiple sites....
