So here we are again, the yearly release of Fifa, and like every year, like idiots, we all fall for the hype and the gameplay during the betas and the early access gameplay, which is usually responsive, skill rewarding and ultimately quite fun. Then the issues started, PC players unable to even launch the game due to a broken anti cheat, the new meta gets discovered leading to playing the same teams over and over again, and the usual bugs and leaks and errors in and out of gameplay. Then a new level of incompetence from EA, the hero pack debacle. Massively messing up the market and power curve, and furthering the pay to win gap in between players more than ever in recent memory, and EA's response? To sweep it under the rug and pretend it didn't happen. The aforementioned PC launch glitch took just over a week to fix, the hero pack issue? About 10 minutes, interesting when the money is at risk how quickly they can sort things out really. The community seems worse than it has ever been, this isn't a football game, its a turn 6 million times and shoot from half a yard out simulator. The gameplay is the worst it has been, given how unresponsive the servers are, from the PC standpoint. Ultimately I'm glad I haven't paid for it this year, and simply used the EA play pro subscription to test it out. Its fitting that the last Fifa is the worst, just to milk the franchise dry and crush it into the dust. A sad end for what used to be an iconic series. If you haven't yet, just don't waste your money. Yes the game might be £60, but get ready to spend more along £600 if you want any form of enjoyment out of FUT.
