First of, the movie is fantastic. Best movie I’ve seen in a while for sheer entertainment value. It’s fast paced at times, the director doesn’t waste a minute, gets right to it, there’s only 2 hours and 40 minutes to cram 20 plus years of Elvis’s life into. Austin Butler is just superlative. An out of this world performance. It’s as if he channels Elvis directly, it’s just unreal how good he is. I noticed him in ‘once upon a time in Hollywood’ also. Another great role for him but as Elvis he’s just fantastic, I can’t say it enough. Tom Hanks as the colonel, Elvis’s longtime slimeball manager is also good, although he seems to be getting some bad reviews. Not sure why because he really made me dislike this sob, so job well done ! The direction by Baz Luhrman is just heads above the ordinary. So entertaining ! The whole cast is wonderful. I’ll see it again !
