So here is a review from Ayushmann Khurana 's most bold yet quite weakest film Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan. WHAT I LIKE :- - Ayushmann is back with another film based on a social issue, served on a comedy platter. - The film has its entertainment quotient is delightfully high for a film tackling a clash between conservatism and freedom, between tradition and modernity. - the film scores full Mark's on the humour factor as some scenes will leave you in splits. The dialogues are comical and cleverly written. Unlike other films , which used to mock homosexuality this film takes humour laced jabs at homophobia . - the physical assault and suicide threats are treated comically. - Karthik at one point wisely opines that the older generation can't entirely be blamed for their homophobia because Indian cinema and literature have not given them a laila-majnu style reference point. - Ayushmann and Jitendra kumar are a symbol of ying and yang in this film. If Ayushmann is full of swag and flamboyance then Jeetu understates it with his silent charm and innocence. - The film does not only focus on homosexuality and homophobia but lightly touches upon other issues as well. Love is the foundation of any marriage be it homosexual or heterosexual . WHAT I DID NOT LIKE : - The script spends too much time focused on the infighting within Aman's family instead of staying with the leads. The chemistry between Jeetu and Ayushmann could have been explored much however it has only been shown by kissing scenes. The pair could have been given more romantic scenes . - Although the film has a strong concept the story and its treatment could have been better. SPECIAL MENTION :- - Watch out for the Aashiqui 2 reference - the Jack and jill nursery rhyme becomes Jack and Johnson rhyme. - A reminder to Dream Girl in the climax of the film . - the number of the train 0377 the section which was thankfully scrapped from the constitution . - Kali Gobi : If your education, your degrees are infested with worms of conservatism then your degrees are nothing but a kali gobi.

At first, I was a bit apprehensive about this movie since I had read a lot of negative reviews about it. But I went, because I loved Mainak Bhaumik's films like Ghaire and Baire, Maach misti and more, and Bibhaho diaries, and it's a thriller ( a genre I love the most) and the two "satyanweshi bondhu " Abir and Jisshu. The story keeps you engaging and the fast faced storyline does not allow you to blink. Well researched and impressive dialogues are true to the tone of the film. Jisshu effortlessly and believably plays the role of a broken and battered police officer. But I think the spotlight is always on the bad guy ( as seen in movies like Darr , Dhoom series, Padmavat). And one has to admit that it is Abir who has the more interesting role, one he delivers with aplomb. Every twitch of his face , his smirk and his cheekiness is testimony to an actor at the top of his game. But there are things about which I am quite sceptical . The film deals with the five elements- fire,water,earth,air,sky but is not executed quite convincingly because it is the fire which is most prominently shown in the film. And the film runs very quickly just like the bubble gum shown in the film. And why is the film titled Bornoporichoy ? No explanation. Last but not the least I would want Mainak Bhaumik to make more thrillers and Abir to do more such roles.
