I hope this show isn’t canceled. Although it’s a reality show, I think it depicts life as an African American family that’s closer to our reality. No cat fights between ladies, no kids trying to come up in the rap game and no butchering of the english language. This is an image of African American life that America needs. All too often, television takes the worst parts of our culture and presents it to the world. As if the media industry only wants those parts of us shown. Shows with contrasting views are short lived and soon canceled. African American society is bombarded with so much negativity, daily, that it’s difficult to live beyond the base stereotypical image America has for us. America needs this show!

Joy shares view points that America is not used to. A view that is pioneering without a show to compare to. America struggles to evaluate her using conventional norms and it doesn't work. Hear her message first and then judge. Her appearance ( clothes and skin) are not substantially relative.
