This portrayal of Lara fundamentally misrepresents her core attributes. Lara is fierce, resourceful, independent, sassy, witty, and confident. However, the version we see comes across as an unsure teenager, frequently struggling with emotional breakdowns. Lara is not only a badass for her fitness and bravery, but also for her strong personalityโsomething the show's writers seem to overlook. In just the first episode, I lost count of the moments that depicted her as weak, desperate, scared or helpless. I appreciate the importance of character development, but it shouldn't come at the expense of undermining one of the key symbols of female strength. Very disappointed.
