(No spoilers) - not that there is really anything to spill the beans about…
“WokeBusters” is an unnecessary additional to the franchise. Its primary production goals were likely to appeal to a new younger audience, say 12 year olds. Much like the first Star Wars prequel, it is painfully obvious that toy sales and cultural appropriation were motivating factors in green lighting this movie.
If a corporate HR department were asked to write a movie script in three weeks, the final product would be precisely this movie. There are a lot of superfluous characters that add nothing to the plot, whose only real contribution is diversity and inclusion.
If you like Stranger Things (the latter seasons), this movie is for you and ironically even includes Finn Wolfhand, from Stranger Things.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is dialog heavy, struggles maintaining interest, and the pace does not pick up until the last 20 minutes or so.
All that being said, this is a perfect movie to take your preteen and their friends to for a rainy weekend (matinee) activity.
