I was raised Catholic and had religion classes once a week for eight years. As an adult I studied other religions of the world searching for more interpretations of God. A few years ago I went back to the KJV of the Bible; I had a difficult time understanding it. I switched to the NKJV and was able to finish it with a fair amount of comprehension. Afterwards I bought the People’s Parallel Bible containing the NLT and KJV. I found it incredibly helpful comparing the two versions. I just finished reading The Old Testament. I must say, I only had a few reservations about the NLT. I highly recommend the NLT to anyone seeking an easy to read and comprehensible version.
