Eh, it's a useful read, and provides much sensible advice on its subject, but to be fair the author (despite having thought out much of it very logically and very thoroughly) is somehow also quite prone to making dubious claims like [trivially, offhand] "glass is technically a viscous liquid" and [less trivially] "hand-to-hand combat is simply more thrilling than ranged combat".
To be fair again, the author was also like "you don't have to agree with my claims, as long as you're thinking critically about them." I like the open-mindedness in that sentence.
Also it's kinda dated (sentences like "movies in the 1950s were full of
people smoking cigarettes, but today’s certainly aren’t" really show their age), but a lot of the stuff it talks about is still pretty applicable to the MMORPGS and "metaverses" of 2024, if you ask me.
