Star Wars has been, by far, my favorite cinematic franchise since I was 5 years old. It has gotten my through hard times in life, a way to escape to another universe, if you will. It has brought me so much joy over the years, even with the new Disney plus shows, I loved every single one of them.
After watching the first three episodes of this “show”, I feel like I have been completely betrayed. Writing off Anakin Skywalkers chosen one status was a slap in the face to childhood me. There is also no character development and the writing does not make me care about these characters.
The “power of one, power of two, power of many” made my legitimately laugh until I cried and completely changing the rules of the force made me legitimately cry.
I also want to say, I have no issues with LGBTQ representation whatsoever. That is the beauty of Star Wars, whether you’re a wookie from kashyyyk or a Twi’lek from Ryloth, everyone is accepted. To be honest, it would be weird if Star Wars did not have any LGBTQ representation, given how prevalent it is on our home world.
All I ask for is good story writing, continuity, and respect to the franchise we have all grown to love. This show misses the mark on all of them. Please, please Disney, hire directors, writers, and actresses/actors that have actually seen Star Wars.
It is a shame that I have to give this one star, as zero stars doesn’t seem to be an option.
