As a long time resident evil fan , since the original game released on the PS1 I've waited for the day when we could have a TV show / movie that Is loyal to the source material... Unfortunately the wait continues... The show looks to promise action and good story telling but after sitting through all 8 episodes (I watched it to see if it would improve) fell way short of what fans of the RE franchise wanted. I found myself disliking the main characters both their current timeline and the future versions of themselves. The characters lacked depth and I couldn't find anything about them relatable/likeable at all. The only saving grace about the characters was Wesker , albeit not like the character from the game, he gave a great performance and overall was the only person whos acting wasn't robotic / lacking depth . The action or lack thereof is sparce and often very boring , I'd say there was only 2 instances of actual action throughout the series. The writing and directing of the series was awful, it felt like they never read/played any of the source material (of which there is plenty) and the show felt hollow and uninteresting , it didn't feel like they actually cared about who the show was made for. I often found myself skipping through the episodes as the story they were trying to tell was so uninteresting. In closing this show is the worst rendition of the RE franchise I've ever seen , worse than the last 2 Mila RE movies (and that's saying something). True RE fans stay away. Note: the reviews of people giving this show 5 stars are clearly delusional, and are clearly people who say RE4 is the best game , as I said Delusional 😂
