I am surprised at all the 5 star ratings. Once you read the casting you understand what all the singing is about. (Yes dear, daddy will make a movie to showcase your singing career). Unbelievable even for fiction. I guess bike tires aren't what they used to be.

Loved it. Paid homage to the original movie in so many ways.

Would somebody please explain to me why two girls are possessed and one of them had to go to hell. The idea of an exorcism is to get rid of the devil but the exorcism obviously doesn't work because the devil wins the soul of one of the possessed. I also felt Ellen burstyn's appearance in this movie didn't really make sense. Why was she there? Because she had written a book that seemed helpful about the situation? And if this devil remembered her or recognized her are we to think this was the same devil that had originally possessed her daughter? And why was that? I felt that the movie was disjointed and the crucifix scene was gratuitous and simply there to harken back to the original movie.
