Absolute nonsense, yet I wanted to see how it ended. You can drive a bus through the plot lines! A woman who drinks and pill pops all day yet doesn't have a hair out of place and is never drunk or has a hangover?? A fear of the rain to the point she has panic atracks and collapses if she's caught in it yet happily stands in a downpour waving her husband off to work ?? Spoiler alert....... held hostage in her home by a would be killer which turns out not to be the case and they're on the same side and they end up having sex all over the house?? Absolutely ludicrous and laughable and could say a lot more but that would mean more spoiler alerts and don't want to ruin it for anybody that wants to stick with this nonsense.

Thought this was a gripping series with terrific acting. David Lyons as Di Angelo was chilling and throughout most of the episodes you hoped and prayed that Michael Mosley as the amiable "Fish" would finally get the better of him. Beau Knapp as Jablonski the cop who was in the wrong place at the wrong time was also terrific in playing what was essentially a good cop that fell under the spell of Di Angelo and his cronies and ultimately got in so deep he couldn't get out. But what I found surprisingly ludicrous given the nature of the rest of the terrific writing was the plot surrounding Nadine. SPOILER ALERT !! Here was a key witness taken from her place of work at the kennels in front of a witness, driven to a swamp in the middle of nowhere by the cops involved and subsequently murdered to silence her. One of the cops is later found to have scratch marks on his arms caused by the struggle and yet despite all of that she was dismissed simply as a junkie who had overdosed and that particular part of the case was instantly closed. Just didn't ring true and put a dampener on what otherwise was a terrific series.

I found this a gripping series and was hooked from beginning to end Eric Bana was excellent as the entirely plausible but subsequently downright evil John Meehan but oh Connie Britton as Debbie ? Ile give her the benefit of the doubt. Ime sure she is a very fine actress and ile assume she was told to play the part in a particular way. But if not ? Well I found her one dimensional portrayal of the victimised Debbie so excruciating! Every scene no matter the gravity of it was played with the same quietly spoken air of bewilderment and wonderment. No scenes of downright rage or anger, or signs of mental anguish which you would expect, just the same wistful expression and whispered dialogue with exaggerated facial expressions to match from the beginning of the series right through to the end. The only thing that stopped her performance from being laughable was the indisputable fact that this was a true story with horrific repercussions for the real Debbie and her family and as I said earlier I will give Connie the benefit of the doubt as who knows, perhaps true life Debbie actually did act like that tho its hard to believe she did given what Meehan subjected her to.
