So far, with 50 hours and 43 minutes on the game, I can honestly say I absolutely loved the experience. I’m even thinking of getting the platinum trophy as well.
Having just finished the story with this play time, I do feel it was drawn out and in the last 3 hours you kinda just want it all to get wrapped up; which is what it does through the use of 2 and a half hours worth of cutscenes - however the positive being that it’s all incredibly well acted. Not only this, but at times I feel the writing isn’t at the best quality it could be (especially with the plethora of amazing scenes). The plot, although convoluted, comes together nicely by the end.
A lot of people are put off by the game through the gameplay itself, some even saying it’s not a proper game. Now I do agree that the combat sequences in the game are incredibly clunky and often feel out of place, especially since Kojima was the mastermind behind the Metal Gear franchise. The main hook of the game is to deliver packages through a world where the dead have a strong connection with the living. To be perfectly honest, the game is like marmite - you either love it or you hate it.
Fortunately I’m one of those that enjoyed it! And I’m only 15!
