It’s difficult to say what I think about this remarkably terrifying series. Ultimately, one finds it’s about the power of forgiveness—but if that sounds sentimental, Beware! Prenez Garde! One passes through Hell, the city beside the black water, beforehand, and a more richly imagined Hell I hope never to encounter.
